Mobile Food Bank
Most food banks operate during normal business hours making it difficult for those who may need food support access these services. MOH distributes on Saturdays or other times that would make the resource more accessible. On distribution day a team of 10 to 15 volunteers would transport food to the distribution site and set up tables and display the food that is available and check people in. Food is made available on the bases of income and family size and no one is turned away. After distribution remaining food would be pack up and returned to MOH warehouse.
Feeding the Homeless
On the first Saturday of each month a team goes and serves those who are homeless under the Center St bridge. Volunteers set up tables and chairs and serve folks “restaurant style” Help is always welcome as we serve these folks seeking to preserve their dignity. Food prep, transportation, coat drives and serving are just some of the ways you can be involved.
Community Dinners
On the first Thursday of each month during the school year, Mission of Hope prepares and helps facilatate a community dinner at Houck Middle School. Help is always welcome as we help strengthen bonds of community in the Four Corners area.
Donate…
There is always a need for funds in the war against hunger. Every dollar goes to the distribution of food as Mission of Hope is staffed with volunteers.
